GPU

A GPU, or Graphics Processing Unit, is a specialized electronic circuit designed to accelerate the processing of images and videos for display. It is primarily used in computers for rendering graphics in applications such as video games, simulations, and graphical user interfaces. Unlike a CPU (Central Processing Unit), which is optimized for general-purpose computing tasks, a GPU is optimized for parallel processing, allowing it to perform many calculations simultaneously. This makes GPUs particularly effective for tasks that require high levels of mathematical computation and data throughput, such as 3D rendering and machine learning. Modern GPUs can also handle non-graphical workloads, making them valuable for various compute-intensive applications beyond their original purpose.
