Nasdaq
Nasdaq refers to the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations, which is an American stock exchange based in New York City. It is known for being the first electronic stock market and operates as a platform for trading stocks, including those of many technology and internet-based companies. Nasdaq is recognized for its market capitalization, ranking as one of the largest stock exchanges in the world, alongside the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). It provides a transparent and efficient marketplace for buying and selling securities, utilizing a fully automated trading system. The term "Nasdaq" is often also used to refer to the Nasdaq Composite, an index of over 3,000 stocks listed on the exchange, which reflects the performance of its constituent companies.
